Goodbye Vercel, Hello Coolify

Beatzball.com is now officially off of Vercel and I’m now using Coolify to automate deployments to my own servers.

Vercel created an attractive product by making deployments easy, especially for different frameworks like Next.js and Astro (this site is built with an older version of Astro). But the more I found myself telling others not to use Vercel, the more guilty I felt for being lazy and having a few services still living on their systems, including this site.

So, I’ve finally taken the long awaited plunge to setting up a few server instances and automating deployments to my own servers. There was a little more work than I originally anticipated, but nothing overly complicated - just some trial and error within the settings and getting back up to speed on my DNS configurations.

Maybe one day I’ll do a walk-through of issues/concerns I’ve come across that is not highlighted in any documentation online. To be continued…
